music for any occasion
Tom is a versatile free-lance trumpet player. You can catch him playing lead trumpet with the DELMARVA BIG BAND or in the trumpet section of the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra. He recently performed at the American Music Theatre. He is a member of The Alliance Project, the Salisbury Brsss, and he regularly performs ceremonial wedding music.
Since returning to the music scene in 2009, Tom has played lead trumpet with the legendary Bobby Shew, Mark Gross (Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra), Chris Vadala (Chuck Mangione's incredible reed front man), NY-based trumpeter Alex Norris, and Jennifer Wills Hope who starred on Broadway as Christine in Phantom of the Opera; on the classical side he has performed with world class pianist Nelson Padgett and Russian violinist Igor Kalnin. Tom has also played lead trumpet for the Chuck Baker Jazz Orchestra and the Tim Laushey Jazz Orchestra.
Tom has played first trumpet in an exhaustive list of musical productions including Hairspray, West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserable, Sweet Charity, Mame, Chicago, Company, Pippin, Damn Yankees, 42nd Street, and many others.
At the request of monster Baltimore bassist and Doctoral candidate Phil Ravita, Tom has formed a unique trio to bring a fresh musical idea to the area. Adding composer/guitarist Dr. Jerry Tabor, the trio will be performing a variety of original compositions, jazz, and pop charts with a unique flavor. They will make their first appearance in Salisbury on Friday, October 12th, 6 p.m. at The Brick Room. More details to follow, but stay tuned for The Alliance Project.
